This morning I put the finishing touches on this birthday cake to surprise a friend and fellow mother from my son’s school. Happy to say that I genuinely surprised her and I hope she enjoys her cake.
This cake is a lemon cake, two layers with a raspberry filling.

Welcome to summer
This first weekend of the summer is for the girls! We are baking up some colorful treats for some special girls. For Saturday we have a sculpted bee cake designed by the birthday girls dad that will sit among a field of 3 dozen flower cupcakes. On Sunday we are putting together a beautiful ombre “under the sea” cake for a two year old who is having what sounds like the most wonderful elaborate birthday party. I can’t wait to see everything all set up and place the cake as the centerpiece on the dessert table. Stay tuned for photos as these cute projects are completed.
